Party Treat: Faux Burgers

BUN: Take a hole-less doughnut (solid and round, no hole in the middle) and slice it in half, top and bottom.

MEAT: Bake brownies, and cut them into rounds with a drinking glass or biscuit cutter. Make sure the rounds are close to the same size as the doughnut/bun.

CONDIMENTS: For ketchup and mustard, use either colored cake icing or different colors/flavors of jam or fruit curd, and pipe it on in thin lines.

LETTUCE AND TOMATO: Green cupcake sprinkles, then a slice of red-orange fruit leather or marzipan colored to look like tomato. Or else use slices of dried strawberries.

FRENCH FRIES: Sweet potato fries, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon rather than salt; fried apple chips; or thin wafter-and-cream cookies. Bonus points for cake icing 'ketchup'.

PICKLE: No burger meal is complete without a pickle on the side. Use a candied cucumber or watermelon rind, or a slice of honeydew melon.

Voila: Birthday treat! If you're concerned about the high amount of sugar in this "meal," make it in miniature by starting with a doughnut hole as the bun, instead of a full-sized doughnut.
