One of the greatest economic challenges in the developing world/countries is clean energy resources. Having served in Venezuela, I saw a lack of infrastructure related to power for homes and churches. The power lines went directly to the government offices and major corporations, which were clustered in the major cities. By learning about clean energy, we as members can take an active role in development of clean energy, which ties directly to clean water and food production.

This is primarily a temporal concern for local people, yet it is one where we can learn and promote development in the areas where we will serve or have served missions. I put this under the mission prep category, because I hope that the Returned missionaries will join the discussions, as they actively prepare for future missionary service, by taking the knowledge gained in local development of clean energy and sustainable communities back to the overseas missions.

Check out our discussions on energy topics and training at AlternativeEnergy.com
where we have posted videos and created discussions specific to energy and water development in every region. There is never any cost for the training through our forums.
