I started learning ASL when I was in high school because my brother started losing his hearing. He's very young and the doctors speculate that it will get worse with age, so the two of us decided that we would learn it together. This past year I've had the opportunity to translate for a deaf boy during his high school classes. It was a difficult experience, but well worth everything I learned in the process!

There are so many books that I like to read, but some of my favorites are Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, A Christmas Story by Jean Sheppard, and Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn.

Mosiah is definitely one of my favorite books of scripture. I love reading King Benjamin's speech. And I like reading the Neil A Maxwell quote book.

I don't think I could ever get sick of Bluegrass or Gospel.

Well, I'm a very outdoorsy type of girl. I love to hike and swim and camp. Other than that if I've got a sketchbook in my hand I'm quite content.

I'm up in Seattle where it seems that saints are scarce, but it's pretty chill all year round, and the members up here are wonderful. I work at a swimming pool as a lifeguard and I teach preschoolers to swim. It's a wonderful job, has flexible hours which is great since I'm in school as well.
