These are not including ALL the textbooks that I read incessantly!

You Are a Dash

Your life is fast paced and varied. You are realistic, down to earth, and very honest.

You're often busy doing something interesting, and what you do changes quickly.

You have many facets to your personality, and you connect them together well.

You have a ton of interests. While some of them are a bit offbeat, they all tie together well.

Your friends rely on you to bring novelty and excitement to their lives.

(And while you're the most interesting person they know, they can't help feeling like they don't know you well.)

You excel in: Anything to do with words

You get along best with: the Exclamation Point

I joined Hal Spacejock's Support Crew

I didn't pay anything,
I didn't sign anything,
and I didn't read the fine print.
Just like Hal!

No space pilot can exist in a vacuum (hah!), and behind every successful pilot there's a talented and dedicated support crew.

Hal Spacejock is one of the least successful space pilots in the history of the galaxy, and a worldwide support crew is needed just to get him off the ground.

What's in it for you?

Hal Spacejock ... Après moi le wreckage

All kinds--including classical, world, opera, folk, bluegrass (I am in the right place for this!), and everything else in between! I play piano, guitar, Irish tin whistle (not very well yet) and sing. I am trying to teach my youngest to play violin (help!).

Sorry--just waaaaaay to many to list. I think we have over 500 movies at this point. My girls are into horse movies and romances (Shakespeare, Austin, etc)and my boys into car and war movies (sort of a duh moment for me). I love the classic B&Ws, a lot of old B movies (the Thin Man movies are faves) and the musicales (love ALL the Deanna Durbin films). Too much influence from my years in the theatre!

We just got "Becoming Jane" and Keziah cried half the night!

Art of all kinds (paint, draw, clay, talc, photography, etc.)
Music creation and listening
Writing (prose, poetry, articles, etc)
Animals, including animal husbandry & equine sports
Cooking (good thing with a big family to feed)
Reading and watching movies (could you tell?)
Playing games (card, board & video)

Update:
I graduated with my MEd on May 12th, 2008. Now I am looking at PhD programs in Autism & Special Ed. We got a horse (Keziah used some of her college money--baaaad mommy) and are now training the mule to run barrels with the horse. We have been building our barn (supplies courtesy of Make-A-Wish for Keziah) forever! It has a roof and outside walls, but no interior divisions for tack room and stalls. We spent the summer reading, canning, preserving, pickling and other fun stuff! :O) We went camping once in the camper--what a chore! LOL We also got a new horse courtesy of my sweetie--a baby 2 yo paint. We spent the fall breaking him and he now does well at trails and speed racing events.
I am the mom of 5 super kids! What a blessing (and sometimes a trial) they are to me.
We live on a farm in south-central Virginia and have a plethora of animals (is that an actual number or what?) to care for. We raise several varieties chickens that lay multicolored eggs, so it is kind of cool. We are setting up a hippotherapy program for children with disabilities so that we can share our blessings with our community.

You Are Cilantro

The bad news is that there are some people who can't stand you.

The good news is that most people love you more than anything else in the world.

You are distinct, unusual, fresh, and very controversial. And you wouldn't have it any other way.

I hadn't answered your comment on my site as I hadn't been on since April or there abouts, but wanted to thank you, and also to wish you and yours well.  I just figured out how to add photos on my page and am slowly getting it done.  How are the horse and mule days going?  I'll put some of the horses up pretty soon.  Lloyd

Congratulations!  I hope that you will be very happy in your new marriage.  And that you find a job that you like too if that is what you want.  Preferably one that leaves you enough time to enjoy life and keep up with all the canning and everything else that you want to do.

Yes, I do like my new job better.  I'm actually working as a counselor now.  A lot of the friction at my old job was related to the fact that they needed a behaviorist, and I couldn't stop at behavior management when I am really a therapist at heart.  But I had to extend my master's program, so I am still a student intern until I finish another 100 hours, and at this rate it will take another month.  As long as I am a student intern, I'm essentially cheap slave labor.  I'm only working part time, and not getting paid much for it, so the pocketbook is hurting a bit.  It's temporary, I hope.  Although I'm applying again to doctoral programs, so I could just be a student indefinitely.  Just a slightly more experienced student with a little bit higher credentials.  We'll see what happens.  I might even have time to can my fruit this summer, depending on everything else.

Karen,

Hi!  How is it going?  How is your family?

I felt bad about starting a conversation with out about professional interests, and then disappearing.    I guess I dropped out of that one because things went bad fast with my job, and it got painful to talk about.  I'm not at that job anymore, but did enjoy comparing notes with you.  And a lot of the assessments and stuff that I used at that job were from Brian Iwata.

Anyway, I keep thinking I should at least say hi again or something, and let you know that I didn't forget about you.  So, I hope you had a great Christmas, and have a Happy New Year also!

That is scary about the tumor.  I will remember you and Nathaniel in my prayers.  November seems like a long time to wait.

I hope your girl adjusts to the retainer, too.
