SUBJECT: MY DESTINY
LOCATION: Youngsville, United States
I'm the first of my family to join this church. No one pushed me into it. No one pressured me. It was a personal decision, and the best decision I ever made.

I wasn't born in this church. I was born for this church. Everything in my life before joining this church has prepared me for it. I started by leaning on the testimony of the missionaries who taught me. I began to recognized the Holy Spirit. My testimony of Jesus Christ began to blossom. I was baptized on May 26, 2012, and confirmed on the following day. We sang hymn 193, I Stand All Amazed. The morning was overcast, the afternoon sunny. I sang and played my guitar to "Let The Spirit Descend" by Hank Williams. It was the missionary's idea. A few weeks later, I was conferred the Aaronic Priesthood. I have opened my heart to this church and it's teachings. I have gained a powerful testimony.

This is not merely a church, or a system of beliefs, or even a religion. If that were all it was, then I wouldn't feel as strongly about it. It's not just another option out there for someone to choose or not to choose. This is Jesus Christ's true church restored to the Earth. This is the genuine article. THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER RELIGION. IT IS MY DESTINY.
I testify that Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of God. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the bonafide word of God. I testify that President Thomas S. Monson and the Quorum of the 12 are all true Prophets and Seer's of my Heavenly Father. I TESTIFY THAT THIS CHURCH IS TRUE. I am grateful to be a member.

No one else in my family is a member. Sometimes I get down about being just a few years too old to serve a mission. Being a YSA, and surrounded by RM's will do that to you. I have prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked him to help me deal with it. I received an answer. The answer is that I am already serving a mission. My mission is my family. All of my family, past and present generations. No one else is going to do my family history work and proxy baptisms for my family. It is entirely up to me. My family deserves to have the opportunity to hear and accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is up to me to teach them. I will not have the MTC experience. That is not in God's plan for me. I can accept that. I'm not a 'Returned Missionary', my mission isn't one with a time limit. Someday I will be married and I can serve missions of the name tag variety with my spouse. In the mean time, I'm currently serving.

I am the first generation of my family in this church. I am as the pioneers. Someday, there will be lots of little me's in the wards of my area. Until then, it is up to me to Choose The Right, hold to the iron rod, and keep the commandments. Future generations are depending on it.
