I'll never forget the day on my mission that I found out Gordon B. Hinckley, the prophet, had passed away. I had grown to love that man and found great comfort in the things he taught. It was a day of darkness and sorrow for me. I visited the church to watch the broadcast of his funeral. It was very moving and sad for a lot of people. At the end of the broadcast, I watched as the Apostles of the church followed the funeral procession out of the tabernacle. It was then that I saw Thomas S. Monson, President Hinckley's former counselor and senior Apostle. Against the backdrop of sadness, I felt a gleam of joy and hope. I knew right then and there that God had chosen this man to lead His church. I knew President Monson was the Lord's prophet. Since then, I have grown to love President Monson much as I did his predecessor. I find great guidance and peace as I listen to his words. I am grateful for the testimony of the Holy Ghost which confirms this truth to me every time I hear him speak.
