Written statements of faith:

SUBJECT: Youth are inspiring...
LOCATION: Manila, Philippines
One Saturday, during our last seminary class, we discussed the book of Malachi, it's about paying tithing in chapter 3. I asked the student if they should use the money for emergency purposes,or for helping others who are in need...they really think about it....some answered yes and others no. I was really excited with their reasoning. I concluded that it's the Lord's money afterall, it's not ours. We should give it to Him without any reservation. The class was great. I was thinking after the class, everything was over. On the next day, it was Sunday after the sacrament, one of the sisters ( mother of my seminary student) hold my hand and told me that her sons discussed with them about the tithing which we have tackled yesterday. She told me she was impressed with his sons. She narrated that she was about to lend her tithing for some purpose but her kids told her about it. She thanked me as we separate ways. I was really touched with these two boys whom I've seen quiet during the class discussion but without knowing that they will really adopt it. I know the youth are future leaders, they should be taught of the church principle and laws of God, and they will surely stand by it once they've gotten the foundation...
I know that paying our tithing is more than a commandment but showing how we love our Heavenly Ftaher and Jesus Christ through these simple ways. Tithing has changed my life and has helped me feel that I am close to my Heavenly Father.
