My testimony did not come easily; nor is it a trivial thing. Through years of searching and prayer it blossomed out of darkness and doubt into the beautiful sunlight of faith. It is my most prized possesion because it is my personal relationship with God the Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I would not trade that for anything. If the day comes that all things and all people are taken away from me or turned against me, I will cling to my testimony til my latest breath. And if life's circumstances leave me alone and destitute like Job of old, then i will declare with him that "I know that my Redeemer liveth!" (Job 19:25) I consider myself extremely blessed to know that my Father in Heaven loves me and that His Son Jesus Christ paid the price for my sins. It gives me that sweet kind of joy that money can't buy.
Heavenly Father has a perfect plan for us. Jesus Christ's sacrifice, or Atonement, is at the center of the plan. Through this plan we can be forgiven of our past mistakes, become clean and be changed each day to become more like Him. I also know that this plan, in its entirety, was lost from the earth for many hundreds of years. However, when the time was right, Jesus Christ restored the fullness of His gospel to the earth through His servant, Joseph Smith. Joseph was called to be a prophet and, like prophets of old, received direction from our Father in Heaven. Through Joseph, our Father was able to restore His church just like it was in the time when His Beloved Son walked the earth. That Church is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which I am a part.
The Book of Mormon is an ancient record of scripture about God's children on this side of the world. Joseph Smith translated this Book and today it stands as evidence of his divine calling and the Restoration of this Church. Anyone who believes the Bible's promise in James 1:5 knows that if they "lack wisdom" and "ask of God" that He will give it to them "liberally." I have tested this promise by reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. I know without a doubt that it is true, that Joseph Smith was called to restore God's Church, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's Kingdom restored to the earth in these last days.
I know that Christ lives. I know He loves each and every one of us. I know that if we draw near unto Him that He can heal us! I have had too many wonderful experiences to be able to deny that. He wants each of us to have ALL that He has to offer.
