Written statements of faith:

I really don't believe in anything supernatural or spooky, but I do have a feeling of right and wrong. If you don't want your father to watch when you are doing it, it is probably wrong. And for those of you who DO believe, your father is ALWAYS watching.

I started reading the Book of Mormon, and made it throught he first two books. I found nothing there contradicting my (limited) knowledge of middle eastern history and culture. I'm trying to figure out where "Bountiful" might be... possibly Somalia, Yemen, or Oman.

My interests are more technical... I'm into pattern recognition, optics fabrication (2 patents), and the thermodynamics of water purification. I'm an amateur politician member of the California Democratic Central Committee. And we are NOT all to the left of Lenin as some radio talk hosts assert. I play flute and oboe, wife plays violin. I was a pilot before my eye injury, and I'm a gun nut, ham radio operator, sailor, and telescope builder. Presently trying to teach myself C programming (should have learned it 30 years ago).

Oh, yeah, I do not have or allow a TV in my home. We read books, listen to radio, play music (from the printed page), and surf the web. TV is 99.9% TRASH; even the few good programs are only there to coax you to watch the commercials.
