SUBJECT: My testimony of the Gospel
LOCATION: Magna, United States
I was born and raised in the church. It has always been a part of me and who I am and the values I have. Once I got to college though my testimony wavered and I fell away and became inactive. Then a friend managed to get me to go to church but I felt like I was missing something. That april at the end of my first year someone I loved and cared about passed away and it was really hard for me. I stopped going to church but for a different reason. I didn't want to feel the pain but what I didn't know was that staying steadfast in the faith would probably have been the best thing for me, especially at that time because the Savior could have helped me through that trying ordeal and I decided to take the hard road. Months passed and I still felt indifferent to everything around me, I went to college that second year but I was very anti social and didnt start going back to church until the spring. I realized at that time that the gospel offered me a way to get rid of the burden I carried and only if I humbled myself and trusted in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would I be able to heal and move on with my life. I have been active in the church ever since. I know that my Heavenly Father lives, that Jesus Christ is His son and that he atoned for the sins, griefs and sorrows of mankind. That only through him can we be saved. Only through our Savior is there hope for us. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prphet of God and that he restored the true church on this earth in this last dispensation. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God and that if we follow him we will know what the Lord would have us do as a church with one heart, and one mind. I know that the Book of Mormon is the most true book on this earth and only if we abide by its precepts and study and ponder it may we become closer to our Father in Heaven and our Savior.
