SUBJECT: Daynon's Testimony
LOCATION: Maine, United States
I have ancestors who endured the hardships of the early history of the church and crossed the plains to Utah, but didn't know about them until I was married. My family was inactive, but thankfully, my mother thought to send me to church when I was young. I don't know what her reasons were, but I am grateful all the same! I joined the church when I was nine, but total conversion took longer than that. I knew at that time that I had recieved an answer to my prayers about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon and about Joseph Smith, but my testimony grew so much more as I studied, fasted, and prayed as I grew older. I know that even now, my testimony is still growing as I learn and put things I learn to the test. I know that Jesus is our Redeemer and that he lives. Heavenly Father and Jesus love me and will help me with all that I need help with, if I just turn to them and ask. I know that the scriptures are true and that together with the Holy Ghost can really be a guide that I can trust to lead my decisions. I know that I'm not alone. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus standing side by side and that they are two separate living entities. I also know that families can be together forever and that our family can return to our Heavenly Home if we live our lives the best we can, take advantage of the healing power and miracle of the atonement and let the Spirit guide our lives.
