SUBJECT: Know to be True
LOCATION: Marietta, United States
Even though I was born and raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the time eventually came when I had to find out for myself whether or not the things I believed to be true were indeed really true. My testimony was based off of my parents, which is common among most youth that grow up in their parent's church, however I knew growing up in the church that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints took upon itself the name of Jesus Christ and proclaimed to be the Restored church of Jesus Christ on the earth, even the exact church that Jesus Christ himself organized with a Prophet and 12 Apostles; that it was Restored back to the earth by direction from Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith in these last days. With this claim, I had to not only just believe that this was true, I needed to know that is was true. Now at this time in my life I can testify to you that I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the earth directed and led by the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through a living Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson and his 12 Apostles. I have come to know that this is true through the power of the Holy Ghost. I have taken the challenge to read the Book of Mormon and to pray about its contents and ask Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ if it is true, and I have received that witness of the Holy Ghost through the burning in my heart and the peace in my mind that it is true. With this knowledge, I know and can testify that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God and that he did see God the Father and His son Jesus Christ in heavenly vision and that they did call him to be the prophet to Restore the church back to its fullness. I know that this Church is true and I can't wait to serve a 2-year mission as a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints proclaiming this Glad Tiding to all the world that Christ's church has been Restored and that the Heavens are not closed. Again, I leave my testimony with you that I know these things to be true and that you too can find out these things for yourself if you humbly seek them, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
