Written statements of faith:

POSTED BY: annstone
DATE: 24.07.2008
SUBJECT: As for Me and My House....
LOCATION: Draper, Utah,
I am so grateful that my parents let me figure out for myself what I believe. As a child I lived and believed on borrowed light. It took a lot of soul searching, reading, pondering and prayer for me to know for my self that.....

God, the Eternal Father lives, that He loves me, that He knows me and my needs, that He wants me to do what is right so that I can return to live with Him! He wants me back, but will not force me to do anything.

Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the world. That only through Him can we return to our first home. He has given me (and you) the free gift of resurrection by dying on the cross and then reclaiming His body and being resurrected. He lives today and He loves us. He also gave us the opportunity to repent and come back to Him by atoning for our sins. This gift is conditional upon our sincere repentance. He was the ultimate example of how to live. I pray that I may become more like Him everyday.

Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and through him, Jesus Christ was able to re-establish His church back to the earth as it was when He lived here. I know Joseph was a man, a mere mortal with faults, yet I honor and revere him. He sacrificed his whole life so that I may enjoy the Gospel in it's restored fullness. The restoration of the Priesthood of God allows us to enjoy the saving ordinances that Jesus, himself, taught.

The Book of Mormon is the word of God! It was translated, not written, by Joseph Smith. And if anyone reads it, with a sincere heart, and likewise prays to know if it is true, God will manifest the truthfulness of it unto them. I have read it many times and each time as I pray about it, I feel a stronger testimony of it. It contains the fullness of the truth! The messages were written for us in our day that we may become more Christ-like.

And I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet of God! That the quorum of 12 Apostles are also prophets, seers and revelators.

I am so blessed to have the peace that the gospel brings. I love my Heavenly Father & I love my Savior!!!!!!!!!!!

In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN
