Written statements of faith:

SUBJECT: Turning to Christ
LOCATION: Saint George, United States
It seems of late whenever I want to share my testimony, it is about the Atonement. I figure this is because I have been learning how to apply the atonement personally in my life. One thing that keeps coming up is the concept of turning to Christ. A local church leader told me once that whenever we are faced with a challenge, we either turn toward Christ for help or turn away from him. If we try to face the challenge alone, that is like turning away from him because by not seeking him out, we give the adversary an opportunity to influence us. If we turn away, (turn to some substance, behavior, or people) in an effort to escape, we are giving influence to the adversary even more.

But if we turn to Christ, even if it is ony in a small way, we will be in his influence. With that 'small way' he will be able to influence us a little, because of our request. Then he can influence us more if we ask more. By getting closer to him and seeking his counsel in solving our problems, we are assured a better experience. Not without trials, but he is a much better master than the alternative.

He loves us. We are his brothers and sisters. The work and suffering he did on our behalf is ever so important to him. He wants us to ask him to share it with us and be part of our lives.
