I was reading a couple blog about Civil Rights vs. Gay Rights and also a blog about asking if you can be gay and still believe in the bible.  Both posts had some interesting views.

Science vs. Bible

I bet that Galileo's teaching of heliocentricity (the sun being the center of our solar system) over the accepted geocentricity (earth as the center) and all the upheaval that came from the holding of science over religiously accepted understanding from scripture and Catholic churches requirement that he take it back or risk being excommunicated from that church.  I mean, Galileo used empirical evidence for his assertions and many in that church refused to even look through his tele... OT vs. NT God

When looking into Christianity, I was held back because of what I took as immoral demands and a wrathful God.  Basicall I would stand back and think, "How can I accept the bible when God allowed people to kill women and children, who told His servant to murder his own son, etc.?  I took it all as God just setting arbitarty acts of judgment up for His people in the Old testament and then somehow He "grew" or became "enlightened" in the New Testament or something.  As I see it now,...
