The Crisis of Spirituality
Posted On 10/30/2008 19:17:31 by Jonathan_A
Last Friday I had the opportunity of attending the 37th annual Sperry Symposium held at BYU.  The first session I went to was given by J. Spencer Fluhman, and was about the problems that crept up during the restoration of the gifts of the Holy Ghost.  As the New Testament shows, there were many visibly distinguishable gifts of the Spirit, such as speaking in tongues, healing, prophesying, etc.  These gifts are wonderful, useful, and ess... What should I do?

Its been over a month since I was baptised, it was such a hard decision for me especially at the age of 15. My biologicale father said he didnt want anything more to do with me and called me very nasty names and I had so many doubts and even though it seemed easier not to get baptised I felt I wanted to and knew I wanted to. Despite this I was very apprehensive when I was driving to church and even more so when I got to t... Read More

Ten minutes to walking out the door to go to my ward... wish me luck!   Hi, I know that I haven’t actually written since August 7, and I’ll explain that it was partly due to me needing a little time to get some perspective on things and because I went on vacation.   I went to my home ward a few times during August, however I didn’t feel “a part” of it, you know? Looking back though I know I was being ridiculous, I sat and listed who I’d spoken to, and who had spoken to me,... Read More

Tonight the Sisters and I spent two hours sharing the gospel with a black friend of mine that I met three weeks ago.  I just can not get enough of the love the Sisters shed when they teach at out homes. I felt the  Spirit around the four of us as we were lead by the Holy Ghost This man hurts and has trouble allowing the forgiveness that Christ gave us to enter into his soul. It was our second lesson our third will be in church this Sunday, he wants to come and see and feel and hear mor... Read More
