To give some background on why I am writing on this subject, I'd like to tell you about a religion teacher that influenced me. While a freshman in high school, I took a class that discussed the writings and revelations that Joseph Smith (the first prophet who lived in the 1800's). I really enjoyed learning about section 18 of the Doctrine and Covenants. We talked about how the church is a vehicle instead of the goal and how the point of the church is to help people. I think it's especially cool that the Mormon church isn't just concerned with assisting people who are members. In a lot of ways there is more focus of helping people who are not. The Mormon's number one belief is in their own concept of moral superiority. They indoctrinate one another that Mormons are the only "True Church" and that all other beliefs are false, thus training their followers to believe that all people except themselves are good people. Focus on Family pulls Glenn Beck article This is an article I received in my email from an email list I am a part of. It's about Focus on the Family group pulling an article off their website about Glenn Beck and how they didn't know that he was Mormon and that Mormons are not Christians.
