I am going to make this short and sweet; I've been writing all day. I've been reading the really long section 124 in the Doctrine and covenants over the last week. In this revelation, the Lord is commanding that the Saints build a temple. The temple is a place where the Saints can make covenants and receive further revelation. One of my new favorite sections of the Doctrine and covenants is section 109. It is such a beautiful prayer, and reminds me of many of the unique elements of the temple. In Doctrine and covenants 76:51-60 we read about these promises the Lord has given us and it also explains how we come to be worthy... Read More
I really enjoyed learning about section 18 of the Doctrine and Covenants. We talked about how the church is a vehicle instead of the goal and how the point of the church is to help people. I think it's especially cool that the Mormon Church isn't just concerned with assisting people who are members. In a lot of ways there is more focus of helping people who are not. Somebody mentioned that we need to make sure that what we do accomplishes somethin... Read More
