Encouragement
by Brother Keith L. Brown Introduction In early January 1998 I was asked to write a letter of encouragement to the young people of the church where my cousin is the pastor. I decided to take the challenge one step further and write a letter/talk addressed to all the members of the church young and old, single and married. What follows are the notes from the talk that I submitted. The Lord has really blessed my humble efforts in putting together this little talk as it has now... Read More

COMING HOME

There have been several blogs these past few weeks on leaving the church, coming back to the church, and friends being exposed to the church’s sometimes not so pretty and rarely talked about past digressions.  Each time I came across one, I was going to respond and then something pulled me away.  I came back and lo and behold, another one, again, sitting down to respond and would not ya know it, pulled away again.  Then I got a call last week from the bishopric, asking me to spe... Without much hesitation she told me about how she had felt to read the Ensign after work ins... Read More

Grateful for the Temple

Thursday, February 28, 2008Through some stroke of luck, my class was cancelled and my wife didn't have to go to her student teaching today. We decided to make the most of the time we had together and we headed for the Temple.  Today I re-remembered why the Temple means so much to me and why God wants us to attend.  With tests coming up, reports coming due, and decisions about Grad School coming on, it was good to step away from it all for a couple of hours and let the Spirit remind me...
