It seems that lately my wife and I have had several chances to help others out. Like they were tests or something. A lot of time we feel like we are too busy to help, or that we have too much to do to spare a few minutes or that out budget is so tight that we can't help those in need. "Pride is a sin that can readily be seen in others but is rarely admitted in ourselves. People you thought you knew and trusted can turn Jeckle and Hyde and do things that you would never even think they were capable of, but they still do. People can make unwise decisions, even people who you thought were the strongest ones in the church and do things or make mistakes that shake those closest to them.... Read More

The Gift and the Power of Faith

By Brother Keith L. Brown

The following Sacrament talk was delivered to the congregation of the Broadneck Ward on Sabbath day afternoon, 27 April 2003. The history of this Church is a history of the expression of such faith. It began with a farm boy in the year 1820 when he read that great promise set forth in the Epistle of James:

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and... Read More
