Women
Posted On 03/07/2009 15:08:38 by spirited_sprite
My boyfriend thinks that I am overly feminist.  I hope not.  I enjoy being capable and allowed to do just about anything that I want to do in today's society.  I am grateful that I was born into such a time.   And I love the place of honor and equality that women hold within the church within the church.   This is a topic that comes up in Dr. Holzapfel's classes often.  I think it is very interesting that LDS women enjoyed so much freedom and such a respec... Temples and Eternal Families
Posted On 02/24/2009 23:48:00 by marinas

I read one of my friend's blogs that he posted early in February on temples and the sealing power (http://nick-nt.blogspot.com/2009/02/sealing-power.html). The New Testament talks a lot about how important it is to do the work needed to aid in the exaltation of those who died having not recieved the opportunity to hear the gospel.&nbs... Read More

Building Temples

I am going to make this short and sweet; I've been writing all day.

I've been reading the really long section 124 in the Doctrine and Covenants over the last week.  In this revelation, the Lord is commanding that the Saints build a temple.  The temple is a place where the Saints can make covenants and receive further revelation.

At this point in time, the Lord has commanded them to build the temple so that the previously hidden ordinances can be revealed.  Ho... Read More

Symbolism
Posted On 02/12/2009 14:06:08 by cjmaldrich
I was recently inspired to study symbolism in the gospel. There is so much of it that is obvious, like Christ being a shepherd. But I have been pondering lately about the significance of numbers. We see numbers like 7, 40, and 12 most often, though there are other commonly found numbers in scriptures.

In my research, I have had a very hard time trying to determine the significance of these numbers. I found some interesting information about the number 12, although none of it really s... Read More
