No Good Reason To Doubt
Posted On 04/14/2009 12:01:40 by zhongting7

Sitting in church last week, I began thinking about something our last stake president used to speak about. He told us that there is very little that he knows. He doesn't know God lives. He doesn't know Jesus is our Savior. He doesn't know the Book of Mormon is true or that this church is God's church. He does, however, believe these things, and that is enough for him (and, apparently, for the Lord, since he was called to be a stake president.)

Mission

Unfortunately Dr. Holzapfel is in Ghana for the week and our class was a Test Review instead of a lecture with new material, so let's see what else I can come up with.

To start out, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or sometimes more commonly known as the Mormon c... Read More

My Grandfather's conversion

I have thought more than once to put the story of how my grandfather came to join the church.  He was in the military in Germany, and he asked a fellow soldier what he was doing that weekend.  This man explained to my grandfather why he wouldn't be interested in what he was doing that weekend.  This only piqued his curiosity.  Why wouldn't I be interested?  The coworker explained that he was going to church.  Why shouldn't he be interested in this?  In this chu... Book of Mormon Class - Testimony  January 20th, 2008

A testimony, in terms of the religious world, could be defined as a personal conviction of a belief.  That conviction may be that a certain principle is true or that the entire doctrine, as one understands it, is believed to be true by the one giving the testimony.  The testimony can also be a means whereby one teaches another.  Preachers, ministers, bishops, and missionaries all rely not only on t...
