Heart Gifts

It's not the things that can be bought
that are life's richest treasure,
It's just the little
"heart gifts"
that money cannot measure...
A cheerful smile, a friendly word,
a sympathetic nod
Are priceless little treasures
from the storehouse
of our God...
They are the things that can't be bought
with silver or with gold,
For thoughtfulness and kindness
and love are never sold...
They are the priceless things in life
for which no one can pay,
And the giver finds rich recompense
In giving them away.

Dear Louise-Ruth,

What a lovely poem.  I think I'll add that one to my collection.  Thank you very much!

I just added a new YouTube video to my lds.net page.  Have you ever seen the Kings Firecrackers perform?  Well, they're absolutely wonderful.  For some very "high energy" entertainment, take a look!

Dear Louise-Ruth,

Thank you so much for sharing the link about Wartburg.  I very much enjoyed the virtual tour of the castle.  The architecture is most beautiful and uplifting.

Again, thank you for sharing that!  Have a wonderful Sabboth.

Hello Peace Rose rest,
I hope you are well and it is also the family well. We are home again, back from our autumn vacation. Even as a child it was my dream to visit the Wartburg, where Martin Luther translated the Bible .
We live in West Germany and East Germany, the DDR was a dictatorship, not a free country in which they could travel easily Tourist as Tourist . Only those who had relatives living there, traveled there in DDR times paid admission to DM 5 per day have to pay if you wanted to go there. Now this is all past .

Well this year it was possible and we have spent weeks there, beautiful in Eisenach. The castle, It had presented to me just as I thought old and the room where Martin Luther supposedly lived and worked a castle room. Still, it was fascinating to be there one can feel the breath of history.

So we were back in time to participate in our city in the vaccination of the state government. My husband and I be vaccinated against swine flu on Wednesday. We are in good shape, we have no side effects, hope it stays that way.

We have not worked up till now , because we were not supposed to work and now I will begin to get rid of our carpet of leaves from the lawn it's all wonderfull in the most beautiful gold color tones look very nice, but gotta go.
I have looked at your website and beautiful flowers, you make wonderful things I wish I could that do too.
Many greetings and stay healthy

Dear Louise-Ruth,

Hello!  Wonderful to hear from you.  I'm so glad you enjoyed your vacation.  And to be able to visit such a historical and spiritual (in my opinion) site.  That must have been so nice.

Things here have been ablaze with color also, but I think the rain today will probably take down most of the leaves from the trees.  We've had a lot of rain this past month.  We don't always get much rain in October.  The skies are usually very clear and blue.  We've had a few days like that, but the rest have been surprisingly overcast.

About you lds.net page.....If your children have computers, perhaps they can help you to post a background picture on your page.  I don't have certain computer accessories either - I have to use my father's scanner in order to put pictures on my background so I know what you mean about how it can be hard sometimes trying to figure out how to do certain things.  But I'm glad you enjoyed my page.  Mums are so colorful when they bloom in the Fall.  It seemed like the perfect picture to represent all the beautiful things that Fall can be.

Well, the Sabboth has come again.  I like Sunday.  I wish we had more days like it in the week.  It just doesn't seem like enough time to have only one day of rest in a week, but I'm grateful for what the Lord has provided for us.  LOL

     Have a wonderful day!

Dear Louise-Ruth,

How are you this evening (actually morning for you)?  Hopefully all is well for you.

Things have been quite calm for me today.  That's been good.  I've been using Facebook to try to locate a few old friends and relatives.  I think I found a relative down in Florida.  He would actually be a 4th cousin, once removed from me.  LOL  Still, I think it's fun to get to know all these people if they're willing to do so.  I've already gotten in touch with a 6th cousin, once removed who lives out in the Salt Lake area.

I took a few minutes to re-decorate my page as well.  I now have bright orange and yellow mums displayed as my background picture.  It's very cheerful looking.

Take care and have a wonderful evening!

Hi Rose_doll , we hope you are well.

You`re welcome, I have enjoyed helping you. I hope you get a response from the principal in Regensburg Germany , but this might take some time, principles are very very very busy. So have patience with people.

Wish you a beautiful new week and the Flying Classroom ( Das Fliegende Klassenzimmer von Erich Kästner ) is a very beautiful book, I like it.

Thank you for the tip. I'll still be searching my yahoo page for any answers. Thank you for all your help, but I know I'm no where near done with my parade of questions. I'm going to need a lot of help. It's just that the questions don't come until I'm in big trouble. lol. Just kidding. Though they do take a while to surface. I'll be sure to ask you for more info if I have any questions. If that would be alright. I'd still like to know about everyday life in Germany. So I'd love to here from you.

Hi there Louise-Ruth!

This is a lovely picture.  I went to the gallery website, too.  Very nice!

So, how are you today?  We've been quite well.  We had a very nice day at church yesterday.  The talks were about service - both the service we give and the service we receive.  It's very true that Heavenly Father does many good things for us every day.

Today I must get lots of work done so I can't tinker on the computer too much.  But I'm very happy that I was able to get a new computer over the weekend.  My other computer has died.  I'm not complaining because it was 13 years old.  LOL  It definately gave good service and has been reliable for a long time, but not it's just worn out.

Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hi Louise-Ruth,

How are you this evening?  Here, of course, it's 6 o'clock in the morning.  Our little dog, Bear, is looking for his breakfast.

We're enjoying some slightly cooler weather right now.  Perhaps it will stay this way for the County Fair.  It's coming up in just a few more days.

We hope all is well for you and yours.  Take care.  We hope to hear back from you soon.

so then there's the cath. school for only girls in Regensberg, but basically every other school in Regensburg (Germany) is both boy and girl. Ok that works. *feew* that's good news. Do you know the name of those boys and girls schools?
