CURRENTLY:

A Comprehensive History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by B.H. Roberts (I'm reading Volume 1--very good book so far!)

OTHERS:

The Richest Man in Babylon (everyone should read it!)
The Secret (not worth buying; some useful info)
The Bible
The D&C
Pearl of Great Price
How To Win Friends and Influence People (an excellent book on learning to genuinely appreciate people and improve your interpersonal relationships)
Oliver Twist
The Crucible
misc. fiction

My new favorite movie is August Rush. What a brilliantly written story!

Others: Star Wars, Serenity, epics like Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, Count of Monte Cristo, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, etc. and triumph/heart warmers like Cinderella Man, The Pursuit of Happyness, Men of Honor, etc. I wait for the R rated shows to come out on tv so I can watch the edited versions.

I also enjoy comedies but I can't remember the last time I saw a good one, unless you count Forrest Gump or Pirates of the Caribbean (excluding sequels).

My biggest hobby is being a member of the 501st Legion. I enjoy building movie quality props and costumes. I'm currently building a Zorro costume for Halloween this year.

I enjoy singing and am a base voice in my ward choir. I was also a base singer in the Melchizedek Priesthood Choir in the October 2006 Priesthood Session of General Conference. Sitting in the choir seats by the large organ pipes in the Conference Center was an experience I'll never forget. The entire building is an architectural wonder.

I also write poetry/verse, I enjoy designing/drawing/illustrating, writing fiction, fishing, camping, hiking, climbing, rappelling, fitness, weightlifting, mixed martial arts... and Star Wars. Yeah, I'm a geek.

My newest hobby is building artifacts from the Book of Mormon. I am currently studying the Liahona and have now finished building one (see my thread HERE) based on all data and information from the BoM, JSH, FARMS, etc. It's a fun little project that has taught me a lot about how the Lord teaches us things. My next project will be the sword of Laban.

Is There Scientific Proof Authenticating the Book of Mormon?

In a nutshell:

Born and raised in Texas. I've lived in Utah now since '91. I celebrated my 16th wedding anniversary this November 8th. I have two full grown boys (I'm an adoptive father). I speak three languages--English, Spanish and German. I am a General Contractor. If you got the plans, I can build it.

Fitness, Athletics and Bodybuilding have been a huge part of my life and staying in shape is an important part of what I do for a living. I've been weightlifting for about twenty years but only briefly considered competing and opening up a gymn. I thoroughly enjoy mixed martial arts and have enjoyed watching UFC and other mixed martial arts shows for about ten years.

I am also a proud member of the 501st Legion, a world wide Star Wars costuming club and it's local chapter based in Utah, Idaho and Montana, The Alpine Garrison, where I have served the community by organizing and participating in local charitable events, such as Asthma Walks, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes Walks and Toys for Tots fund raisers, Make-A-Wish Foundation and much more. I also volunteer and lead a group for our local Adopt-A-Highway clean up program. I enjoy serving the community and making new friends.

Hi, Skalenfehl...

Just came by to say hi, and I appreciate your posts on the boards... You have lots of great things to say, and I like the firm, but non-confrontational way you say them... I have learned a lot from you..

I see you are a General Contractor along the Wasatch Front... I used to work in a counter top shop in PG (One Stop Counter Tops)... And in an insurance ofice in AF (Shumway Insurance Group)... We worked in conjunction with a lot contractors... Ever deal with either of them??

Take Care, Silver Girl

SERIOUSLY, skal! I never thought I'd EVER meet anyone with the same mind as myself on the party system in the USA. I am no party at all either. I am a citizen of the United States of America. Woot! Woot! on the founding fathers.
