I Found a Job!!!
Posted On 06/11/2009 11:08:55

I finally found a job!!  I'm working at Wal-Mart now, and have been for about a week.  I really love the store I'm at.  The people there are really friendly and nice, customers and employees alike.  In fact, we have quite a few employees who transferred to this store from another Wal-Mart that wasn't as good, so I feel really good about the store I'm at.

The funny thing is, I'd applied at that Wal-Mart last fall and got no response.  This time, they called me within a few days of turning in my application.

I have no doubt this job situation was made possible because we paid our tithing.  We had gotten behind, and it took us a few weeks to catch up.  Wal-Mart called me literally within a week of us getting caught up on tithing.  Out of all the applications I've put in over the past year (I stopped counting at a hundred), this was the ONLY callback I got.  And it's within walking distance from home, has the flexible schedule I need, and they're paying me more than the starting rate because of my experience, so I'm earning more than I had expected I would.  I have no doubt at all that all these wonderful things came together because we paid our tithing.

So while it won't make up for the income DH has lost over the summer (he's a school bus driver and did not get a summer school route this year), it will still definitely help and will be that much extra when he goes back to work in August (it's not really "extra", as we've needed me to be working for awhile).

I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to work and I am so grateful to the Lord because I know He had a hand in this!

School Days

Well, I made it through my first year of school.  It was a struggle, especially this past semester, but I'm hanging in there.  One more semester at a local community college, and then on to Northern Arizona University for another two years or so.  Hopefully it all works out.

I'm still looking for work.  I put it on hold for awhile when school got to be overwhelming.  Hopefully since I'm off for the summer I can find something.  Then I'll just have to worry about fitting it into my school schedule in the fall.

The Hub is still working two jobs, bless his heart.  He's such a hard worker and so dedicated.  I'm so grateful to have him.  I'm really blessed.  Poor guy falls asleep in Sacrament meeting after working all night at one of his jobs, but he still gets up and goes to church and at least puts in the effort.

My kids are finishing up school for the year this week.  My oldest will have only one year left after this, and the next oldest two years.  They're both planning to go to NAU as well.  Should be interesting with all of us at the same school!

That's Life!

What a crazy year it's been!  Job changes, attempting to return to school, burst pipes in our house (and still no hot water to most of it), a kid who is learning to drive and still no new baby after more than two years of trying.  Well, I never wanted a stagnant life, lol!
