life is good
Posted On 05/17/2009 14:18:02

It has been forever since I have written a blog!! This year has been such a whirlwind of awesomeness. I love my new job teaching music to kindergarten and first grade.  i Learned so much about being organized and  have made some awesome friends in my coworkers . I am finally getting back to normal from having knee surgery in february. It was such a disconcerting time for me because i have never had anything like that happen to me before. I can see the hand of the Lord in my life in so many things. Sometimes it boggles my mind that the creator of the universe knows me personally and loves me enough to answer my prayers.

Now the summer is ahead of me and i have so many fun things i want to do.. my only concern...having someone to do those fun things with. I think I am going to drag my siblings and friends around with me. That is always fun and maybe someday the Lord will send me someone to do fun things with for eternity.

Mysterious ways

Ok so i know I haven't been around here lately. I have missed everyone! so many things have happened in the last month!!! let's see if i can nail down a few... well first off my family has closed our pet store business.. we agonized over the decision and finally took the problem to the Lord. He has an amazing way of letting us know what we should be doing :)

second I got a full time teaching job. I absolutely love teaching the kindergarten and first graders music.. they are so adorable and cute! I never imagined myself teaching anything but highschool but i have had a blast dancing and singing with my 600 students. I am still teaching seminary and private lessons and loving those as well. Life is hectic but good. Now if only the weather would cooperate! Hurricane gustav is scheduled to hit my hometown monday night or early tuesday morning. Our family and ward has prepared for this and I feel great peace. I know the Lord watches over us and cares for each and every one of us.

Glad to be back!

Isn't it awesome....

Isn't it awesome that even though we may disagree about things like politics and social things. That we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can always agree about the important things? Things like a belief in our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. That Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and he restored Christ's gospel to the earth again. That we are lead by  prophet today, even Thomas S. Monson. That the Book of Mormon is true! I was just thinking to day, we all have our differences... each of us are in a different stage in our lives... but the common thread in all our ives is the Gospel. What an awesome thing to have in common. To have the TRUTH, to have the ability to work our our salvation and to return to our Father, who loves us all. The little differences fall away in the face of that common thread. It is so awesome!

Fireflies!
Posted On 04/26/2008 20:51:45

Tonight I saw my first firflies of the year! I love those industrious little bugs. Whenever I see their bright spark come to life for that split second it makes me smile. When I was little there used to be thousands of fireflies in my yard. I used to catch them in jars and watch them light up the night. Now I am lucky if I see 10-20 at the height of the firefly season. I hope it was not my efforts at making my own "nightlight" that caused them to lessen in numbers lol. I think sometimes I don't stop long enough to marvel in wonder at small miracles in nature. Tonight i was reminded of my Heavenly Father through a small flash of brilliance in the darkness. I realized I need to slow down my hectic pace sometimes and just sit and ponder the brilliance of our Heavenly Father's creations. Maybe I will get a flash of brilliance myself.

Mag's Joyfull beginning
Posted On 04/07/2008 22:38:33
Ok, so my family has all started blogs and they want me to do one too. I don't really have much to say. hmmmmm... nope brain is empty... maybe I should just talk about me.....well maybe just a little bit.
ok.. here goes.... I am from a family with four children 3 girls one boy.. I am the second daughter, brother is the youngest. I was always a daddy's girl and he had a wonderful way of making all of his daughters feel special and loved. My mom is a miracle worker, she is the most patient person on the planet! I tell her all the time it is only her association with me that keeps her from being translated. ok what else. I like to make people laugh. I think laughter heals the heart and lifts the spirit. My sister's and I used to have days where we would laugh and laugh at the silliest things.. like a singing piece of bread......ok you had to be there for that one... but trust me... bread will sing at 4am in the morning at youth conference... don't belive me? try it! When I was a preteen I used to get angry at the world.. thankfully my parents loved me anyway and i came to realize life is too short and too precious to spend it being mad all the time.. I lvoe the Scripture "Adam fell that men might be and men are that they might have JOY" 2 nephi 2:25 (thank you seminary!) Joy is something that I strive for on a daily basis.. I try to find joy in the world around me.. sometimes I find Joy in the beautiful flowers that grow all around my yard. sometimes I find Joy in a phone call from my sisters, sometimes I find joy in just cuddling with my neices. I Love it!
wow.. this is turning out to be longer than I expected... maybe the brain isn'tso empty...   I also find Joy in talking to the people I have met here. There are so many wonderful people in the world who share the same beliefs as me. I think that is amazing! that we all are striving to be more like our Father in Heaven. I love it when i visit other wards and here member's testimonies from other areas. They belive the same Gospel as I do. The Gospel is the same worldwide, no mattter where you go the same things will be taught....why? because the things that are taught are true! I love my Savior, I am so thankful to him for his sacrifice for me.. it brings me JOY to know of his love for me.
