Miss Me, Miss Me
Posted On 09/27/2009 20:35:57

Know you have to kiss me!

Actually, I think I will just settle with Hersey's kisses... as some of us here, have cooties.... I'm not going to name names.... *cough* [Dr T] *cough*

Ehem, now that we have that out of the way...

How have you all been?

Me? Well thanks for asking,

I've been busy.

I've starting my apprentinship for school. I'm taking my ECE (Early Childhood Education) I go to class Monday and Wednesday nights, after work. It`s busy, but hey, its nice. :)

I hope you guys missed me, because you know what? I MISSED YOU GUYS!

*Group HUG*

YAY

Hope to chat it up, with you guys soon!

Let me tell you a story.....
Posted On 03/28/2009 07:15:48

(First, before we start... please forgive my spelling. ) :)

Of my experience, YESTERDAY that I experienced getting my wisdom teeth out.

DUN DUN DUN

So..... BEFORE I start this..... PLEASE.... if YOU HAVE TO.... DO these things before you start reading my blog.

  1. Go to the bathroom.
  2. Go get a snack
  3. Brush your teeth

Ehem, so as I was saying yesterday I go my wisdom teeth out. Lovely.

My appoiment was at 8:45, but as we all know, appoiments usually NEVER start on time. NEVER!!!!

I actually had to get exrays done first. Because when I went their for my consult, the developer machine thing was not working. Anyways..... so when I walked in do you want to know what I heard......

SCREAMING! CRYING! BOTH!!!!!!!! I was like, whhhaaaaat did I get myself into? SERIOUSLY! It was as bad, as if they were taking out her widsom teeth, but they forgot the give her the drugs!!! (I'm not sure what she was upset from, but.... still...!!!)

So, I got my exrays, and found out that I only had 3 widsom teeth, instead of the 4 that I though I had. BONUS!!!

Soooo..... once I had the exrays done, I had to go back to the waiting room. In that waiting room, their was two other ladies, myself, and my Dad. Akward. I know. Anyways, when they called me in, I gave my Dad a hug and a kiss, and said good-bye. Or wait... I think I said Holla... Nooo. wait I said good-bye.

So the nurse led me to this room, at the end of the hall, scarey eh? So I lied down in the dentist chair, and we were talking and laughing  and then she stuck the thingy-ma-bob on my finger, and around my arm, for my blood presure. Which went off every 5 minutes. (Scared me to death the first time, because I was alone in the room, and I thought something was wrong) Do you ever notice that when you have one of those on your arm.... it squeezes you SOOOO hard, you think your arm is going to pop off? (Well, just wondering)

Okay, so where was I?

Oh yeah, so after the nurse, put the blodd presure things on me, she stuck the sticker things on my chest and belly... I have no idea what they were called, but they were attached to the machine that took my heart rate etc, just like the blood pressue thingys.( I had to lift my shirt up so she could put the thingys on my chest, because they went up in that area......, thank goodness I choose to wear a clean bra that morning.)

So, I don't think I mentioned this but my neighbour from where my Mom lives, also works their, so that was fine, she was in the room, with me for the whole operation. Which was nice. :)

So, I am waiting to get the IV in from the Dr, and another nurse walks in, she was nice and friendly, and very funny. She was awesome. I asked her if I say anything funky when I am coming around from the medicnce, to not tell me UNLESS IT WAS ABSOLUTLY FUNNY!!!...

BRB it is 8:25 AM I need to go and take more T'3's Okay, I'm back and it is now 8:30. we can commence now. :)

Back to what I was asking the nurse...... her reply to that was " What happens in oral surgery, stays in oral surgery." I liked her.

(Anyways, I do remember what I did say when I was coming out the anesthetic. But you will hear those in a minute or two!)

So, I'm talking with the nurse, and my neighbour nurse, and the Dr walks in. Does not say "Hi Dana" Or "How are you this morning?" NOTHING like that! NOTHING! He just goes right to the table, gets that elastic band thingy, puts it around my arm, and starts to put the IV in my hand. That was rude. Goodness Gracious!!! :) :)

Anyways, I guess I have "small vains" because he poked me twice in the top of my hand, which pinched. ALOT. And then closer to my wrist which did not pinch as bad. (Before the Dr came in, the nice nurse said it would take about 45 seconds for the anesthetic to kick it. I think it took shorter. LOL!!!!) (Oh, Don't worry, the nice nurse and my neighbour nurse, were both super nice, but I can't call them nice nurse, and night neighbour nurse... well maybe I can, but no.) :) Anyways, once the IV was in, the nice nurse and my neighbour nurse, said to think of lovely thoughts, nice places to dream. I said I'm going shopping. With my Grandma.....Then I was out.

Because I have to use the bathroom, at this point in my story, I am giving you permission, to go the bathroom, get a drink... etc... but hurry back. :)

Okay back, I actually got sidetracked and went on Facebook, but you know! :) hehe I just wanted to be honest with you all. :)

Okay, so when I woke up, I had those oxygen thingys in my nose. They felt weird...... so, these are the things that I remember saying or asking the nice nurse...

  1. What time is it? ( I think I asked her that every 10 minutes, because Once I would ask her, I would doze off, and then wake back up, and ask her again, and it was like 10:00, or 10:10) (Those were not the times she told me, because I don't remember the times! Just wanted to clear things up! ):)
  2. I asked her where was my Dad?
  3. I asked can I have some Kraft Dinner?
  4. I asked if I did okay.

You know what, I probably asked her, more... wait I know I asked her more, even though I don't remember, what those things were, she understood EVERYTHING THAT I SAID! I had gauze in my mouth, my mouth was still frozen from the freezing, and Oh my ! :) Seriously! CRAZY!

So, When I woke up, I was really really, dizzy.

So, when I was not as dizzy as I was when I worke, up.... we moved to the recovery room, but I was still dizzy. I had to put my arm around the nice nurse, because I almost walked into the wall.... twice....

After I got to the recovery room, I got to lie, down, and guess what?!?! I HAD A BLANKET! It was cozy.

Then they brought my Dad in. I remember asking him if he could go and get my ice-cream, and I asked about my Grandma and my Papa, and  thier dog... (Just a side note about my Grandparents... it is their 51st Wedding Anniversary today! :) )

Anyways, once I was in the recovery room for maybe about 10 minutes, they brought in another girl, who I think was my age, and you know what? SHE GOT TO LEAVE BEFORE ME! I was like WHAT IS THIS? But I guess she came out the the anesthetic quicker than I. Her parents were nice. They asked about, me and said hope you feel better. I liked them too. :)

Anyways, the nurse who sticked the thingys on my chest came in, and asked how I felt... I said I felt sleepy, and a little dizzy. Then she asked if I wanted to sit, up. I said no. She said "okay lets sit up" I was like lady, I just said no. But I felt a little better when I sat up, I was dizzy, but it was good to sit up. She changed my gauze in my mouth, and went though the tings I can eat etc. Then I started on T3's.Then I got to stand up, becascause I got to go home.

My Dad brought the car around to the back, and the nurse who stuck things on me, guided me to the car. She even helped put my coat on. Oh, I almost walked into the wall again. :)

During the ride home, I called my Mom and my Grandparents.

Then when my Dad brought me home, I went to bed.

Wow... that was a long post......

So that was my story.

Thank you for reading... drive carefully... ;)

Living with Dad: Week 3
Posted On 11/22/2008 19:30:26

Yay!

Week three was good. ;) Becasue, it was, and also because I worked the WHOLE week.
Go me.

Anyways.... lets commence, the blog writing, so I can tell you about my week, because I would like a cookie after I write this. ;)

Monday

I worked. Yay
BUT THEN....
When my Dad picked me up from the work place, he was like we were invited out for dinner tonight.
I was like yay, but then I was like nay.
Guess where we went.....

THE "New" main squeeze and the spawn childs house.

Actually the dinner, was good.
We didn't eat until 7:00 and I was like lady, if you want me to like you, please feed me at a decdent time.
Anyways, I ate, and it was tasty.
Again, the spawn child would not leave me alone.
I don't mind, if she wants to sit beside me, or give me a hug, or even snuggle in for a cuddle, but serioursly, dont storke me. Or pounce on me, when I came out of the bathroom, to see if I wanted to play store.
Oh well.

Tuesday

I worked, and then went to my Grandprarents for the night.

I think Tuesday was my favourite day of the week.

I love staying with my Grandparents.

Wednesday

Worked, and then at my Grandparents until after dinner.

Thursday

Again, worked. Went out with my Aunt and my cousin shopping.

I got new undies. :)

Friday

Worked, and then Mom picked me up.

Week three was not that exciting. But it's done, and now it's on to week four!!

:D

Living with Dad: Week 2
Posted On 11/14/2008 22:11:07

Week two down. Yippie.

The past week has been crazy, LOTS of  crying, and LOTS of  yelling kind of a week.

Seriously.

Anyways,

SO: breakdown, of the week...

On Monday I got called into work for 8:45. I got the call at 7:00. I was still at my Mom's.

So therefore, Dad had to come and pick me up.. hehe...

Oh well, I enjoyed the day.

Even if I did break the mop. IT WAS RUSTY. NOT MY FAULT. :)

On Tuesday my Dad tells me that he has a new main squeeze if you will... or a new girlfriend

NUMBER FIVE PEOPLE! NUMBER FIVE!!!

(Yes... their are numbers for my Dad's girlfriends, BUT I am NOT the only one. Trust me.

Seriously. Grandma numbers them... so does Papa... of course Morgan does... my Uncle & Aunt too.)

Anyways, back to the story.

On Tuesday, I spent the day with my cosusin because she is a Nanny in the same town.
We make don't really make plans until 9:00 because I might get a call to work, and then I go and dont hang out with my cousin... so if I don't get a call by 9:00 them we can hang :)

On Wednesday  I had an interview at the YMCA for a position. It's not for me, but I wish it was... oh well... I also got called into work after my interview. So YAY! ;)

Thursday I hung out with my cousin again.
AND I also met the main squeeze and her spawn child. BUT I didn't want too... & when I told Dad, he turned into scary Dad. Yelling Dad... Eyes coming out his sockets Dad. Nose flairing Dad.

Do you want to know what I turned into?

Do ya?

Crying Dana.

I didn't want to meet the new main squeeze & her spawn child for these reasons:

  1. Grey's Annotomy was on (I missed it anyways!! )
  2. I wanted to wait for Morgan... when we meet the "new" main squeeze we usually whisper to eachother, and stuff... I told Dad it was tradition... He told me... "Lets break tradition..." I was like no. That's bad Karma :)
  3. Also, because he should listen to me when I say I don't want to do something.. because thats not nice when people don't listen.
  4. He black mailed me. (Please correct me if this is NOT black mail)
" Dana, I want you to do this for ME, and it's important to me if you do this for ME" ....

I met the "new" main squeeze anyways, and her spawn child...Here are the things that I noticed about the meeting of the spawn and the main squeeze:

  1. The main squeeze wears the same perfume as my mother...
  2. The spawn child is annoying, but cute.
  3. The main squeeze reminds me of my Dad's second wife. When I first looked at her, thats who came to mind....
  4. The spawn child also FARTED on the timbits. I was like excuse me... I was going to eat one... good grief...

On the way home from the "new" main squeeze's house, Dad was like: "we are going to the fair on Sunday, are you coming?" (He told me about this on Tuesday, and I said MAYBE)

Well he thought 100% that I was going, and when I said maybe again, because I wanted to call Mom and see if she wanted to go shopping because I would be to and fro this weekend... (from Mom's to the city where my Dad lives for my cousin's football banquet, because he asked me... too cute... and then to my Grandparents.... )

When I told him maybe in the car ..... he FREEKED out.

TOTALLY.

He stopped the car, in the middle of the raod, and was like WWWWWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAT?

So then thought out the 10 minute car ride, back to Dad's I told him my plans, and kept telling him that I wanted to spend the day with my Mom, and blah blah blah... and he was like all mad, and said that Morgan and I don't want him to be happy in his life... and that we think of his as a BAD WORD GOES HERE:             (Which I shall not insert ) and all this, and he says why can't you spend four hours with your Dad...

I told him because I live with you full time now...

Duh....

Then he tried to changed my plans so everything would work out for him...

I said yes, I would go to the flippin fair because I was sleepy and  just so we could not go to bed mad at eachother ( I don't like that)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.............

He had to leave early this morning, so he called me this morning and told me that I should do what I wanted because he has always told Morgan and I that he would support us in any choice we made as long as it was safe...

DANA 1 DAD 0

But he also told me that he should not of told the "new" main squeeze and the spawn child I would go becauseI said maybe.... and he will make sure, of my decision before he makes the plans with them final.

YAY

So we are all good.

On Friday I worked again, and then came home.

Very excited to sleep in my own bed.

P.S. The "new" girlfriends name is Leslie and the spawn child's name is Mackenzie.

=)

Wow, this was a long blog.

Sorry. ;)

Living with Dad: Week 1
Posted On 11/09/2008 08:36:43

Okay, so as some of you know, I moved in with my Dad last Saturday.

Scary stuff.

It's been fine. :)

Anyways, I wrote this in my journal... (well some of it, and was like ooooo I would like to make a blog, because then I get points, and comments and maybe a BLUE STAR! YAY BLUE STARS) Okay, so on to the blog. :)

Dad picked me up last Saturday (November 1st I think)

With my clothes, yay clothes. I went for my Nanny interview and then went back to his house.

I hung up some of my clothes in the closest.... but I need more hangers haha, and I need a dresser, but anyways...

Sunday was fine, because we had our "Smith" family birthday party for Morgan and I.

YAY presents... MONEY.... ICE CREAM CAAAAKEEEE

Then on Monday, I went to my Grandparent's, because they rock, and I love them and also because my Dad had to work out of town, so I was like, your apartment is dark, and scary and cold, let me stay at Papa and Grandma's. So I did.

On Monday, my cousin Leanne, and my Auntie Jo-Ann and my other Grandma went to BINGO. Leanne won.

Oh well, it was fun.

Then when my other Grandma, dropped me off at my Grandma's and Papas I cried. I cried alone because my Grandparents were at their monthly meetings, so it was just me and their dog Ellie
I mean I sobbed.

Crying makes me feel better. The best thing of the night was when Ellie came and put her head on my knee. I love her.

A good cup of tea also makes me feel better, so I made a cup of tea. It was lovely.

( I was thinking... if I ever did convert to LDS I would have to give up tea, and I would put chocolate in its place) ;)

Tuesday

Spent  the day whith my Grandparents. Loved it.

Wednesday

I worked 9-5 at my first day care.

Go me

When I called my Mom to tell her, Morgan answered the phone, and I told her that I worked 9-5 and she said: "Daney... your working 9-5? What a way to make a living!"

It was awesome, the kids are great, and funny.

Thursday

I spent the whole day with my cousin Leanne, at her job.

She is a nanny,

It was great too.!!

Friday

Another day at a day care.

It was fun.

I was with the infants.

Lots of smiles

AND ALSO ON FRIDAY MOM CAME AND PICKED ME UP!!!!

YAY!!

But she is driving me back on Monday.

So I am fine.

Just a little bit CRAZY, and emotional, but I'm a girl so yeah. :)

Nanny Dana??? :o
Posted On 10/28/2008 15:29:07
I think I like the sound of that.
I'm going to say that again.
Nanny Dana

I like it.
Seriously.

Anyways, this morning, bright and early and I mean bright and early, I was checking my emails.
I got one from this lady, I shall name her Bertha.

Now, Bertha and I have conversed before, about me being a possible Nanny for her family, a couple of months ago.

Bertha never emailed me back, so I was like "oh no she didn't, then I was like I think I hear the ice-cream man (which never came!!) then I was like oh well"

So to my surprise she emailed me back this morning!
This morning!!!

She asked me, if I found a job yet.
I was like maybe, what do you have in mind Bertha?

She was like I would like to offer you the Nanny position, and I was like "KABLAM, she likes me..."

Anyways, long blog short, she called me, I didn't pick up the phone because I saw the caller ID and was like I don't know that number, answering machine do you job.

Well it did, and all I heard was: "Hi, Dana it's Bertha.....

So as I was listening to the message come across on the answering machine, I picked it up.
Yay me

Bertha and I chit-chatted about Nanny related things, like money, and responsibilities that I might have if I were to become their Nanny.

I'm glad that it will be Full Time instead of the day care job which would be Part Time, that being said... I feel a little bit better about moving to my Dad's.
Just a little bit.

=)

While I was cleaning my room...
Posted On 10/06/2008 07:12:36
I found my diary that I had when I was um 7!

Okay, I guess I did not find it, because I knew where it was but it was under some stuff on my book shelf.
The things that I wrote in it were pretty funny, (well I think so)!

So because I'm just new to this whole blogging stuff I thought of might make a good topic for a new post? Yes?
Here it goes, my diary entrys, Word for word spelling and EVERYTHING!!! ;)

Here is the first entry;
Dated October 30th 1997 (My 7th birthday)

"It is my birthday and my sister birthday too!
Thank you mommy my gifts are a binder, cabbage patch face paint doll, games, Clifford books, dress, birdhouse kit, boots."

Haha

Here's the next entry;
Dated October 31st 1997

"It is halopoween to niet. I am a devil and my sister is going to be a witch. We are going to get candy! My sister barfed!"

Kid's are funny!!!
Posted On 10/06/2008 07:11:44
I love kids. Not in a creepy way mind you... I LOVE how their mind works, how they can tell funny stories at any given time, and I especially LOVE what comes out of their mouths!!!
They are funny all the time! I think that they are just great!!

So, yesterday I spent the morning at a daycare because I applied to work their as a supply teacher. I just went their to see how everything works.

So everyone was sitting on the carpet for circle time and we were singing the "Cookie Jar" song. (I have no idea what it is really called but oh well)

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about it goes like this:

EVERYONE:Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?
EVERYONE:(persons name) stole the cookies from the cookie jar.
THE PERSON: Who me?
EVERYONE: Yes you!
THE PERSON: Couldn't be!

(I think that is how it goes. LOL)
Then a new person is picked and we start again until everyone has had a turn.

After the song, we did Arts and Crafts (Best time EVER!) and one of the little girls came up to me and said: "Miss Dana, I think YOU stole the cookies from the cookie jar, because you have something on your face that looks like cookie crumbs"!

I laughed, wait EVERYONE laughed.

It was too cute.

So when I got a chance to go to the bathroom, I looked in the mirror to see if I still looked presentable... And also to see if I did have any cookie crumbs on my face. The little girl wanted to show me where the "cookie crumbs" were, while I was looking in the mirror.

So, I did NOT have any cookie crumbs on my face, just a teeny tiny zit.

Ah, they joys and greatness of growing up.
Also, the joys of working with kids!

Working with kids I bet that more funny things will be said, so I guess this is chapter 1!

Rejection
Posted On 08/06/2008 18:00:01

I've been rejected for a few jobs lately... it's kinda drepressing.

REJECTION #1

Hi,

Thank you so much for your interest.  Unfortunately we already have child care sorted at this time.

Good luck in the future.

Thanks,

REJECTION #2

Sorry Dana,

I didn’t realize that you would still be interested in the position with a possible start date of January. Please go ahead and continue to look for another job.We would definitely still like you to watch the kids from time to time and we’ll see if things match up when I’m ready to go back to work.

Not really a rejection... but I got the idea...

REJECTION #3

 Hello Dana

Thank you for your e-mails.  The position we are looking to fill is full time and while ECE is not a requirement, we would be looking for someone with ECE or some comparable experience for the regular full-day care of our children. If you would be interested, however, in providing care as an occasional sitter from time to time when you move to Burlington, please let me know and we would be pleased to set up a time to meet you

REJECTION #4

Hi Dana,

I believe we have found someone for the position.  I want to thank you for your response to all my questions and I will keep your e-mail address on the chance that something doesn't work out.  Thank you and good luck.

So, Anyone need a nanny? :)

I hope,  that I will find a Nanny job soon!

Hmm, it feels good to write things down!
