Anyone Play Softball?
Posted On: 05/22/2008 14:59:10

So I've never played any sport in any sort of a league before... However, my wife plays city league softball every year, and now I do too. This is my first year and my first game was last thursday. I played as catcher because I don't even really know the rules of the game yet haha. I got lucky and scored 4 outs... 3 fouls I caught, and somehow I tagged a guy running home. I really don't know how I did it still... pure luck. Anyways... I really have fun playing the game. I am wondering if anyone out there has played softball much. If you have could you share some tips with me?

Also, funny experiences are definitely welcome!

I used to play in a "beer league" and the most important part is to have fun. we played against some pretty competitive teams that took it so seriously. The year that we had the most fun was the year that we won the championship.

Just have fun and do the best that you can!!!

The only softball I play these days are on the Wii.

Hi Dream! I just signed up for my work's softball league, too. It's a co-ed city league. After my first practice last week I was laying there in bed going...man! I used to be SO good at softball!!... then I thought about it and really the last time I played any sort of really competitive softball was when I was 15.... 20 YEARS ago!! I so totally stunk it up, but I had great fun playing catcher! Just til I "get my bearings" as my coach says. Hee hee!! Good luck!!
