Colossians 3:12-15

"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."

"...pray unto the Father with ALL the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love (Charity), which he hath BESTOWED upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ;....."

As I understand it, Charity is a gift of God that we are to seek -- but, which, we cannot 'earn' on our own.  It is something that we pray for diligently as we fall so short on our own!

Thank you for the beautiful quotes!

When we participate in the service of others we most definately are serving our God.  This work will roll forth because of the saints who by covenant promise to give all that they have to that effort, whether it be time, talents, or whatever they are blessed with.  We will be blessed accordingly.
