In the name of Allah(God)

 

"Islam" is an Arabic word which has come from the word:"Aslama".This word also has come from the word:"Selm" which means :"Peace, reconciliation ".

Muslims when see each other say:"Salam" which is another word that has come from:"Selm" and means:"Peace".The word  "Salam" is what in English is:"Hello".

But I don't know what does "Hello" means and what is its root?

So muslims, every day and every time and every where that see a person,say:"Peace".

So how can they think about terror ?And why some try to say that Islam is the religion of terror?Among the religions in the world, Islam is the only religion that believes in what has sent to the Christians and Islam is also the only religion that believe that muslims and Christians have the same God! 

If we look at a muslim country,we will see that Muslims are living with Christians and Jews in peace and look at them like their brothers and sisters!

It is what our prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon Him) has teached us!Those days ,Medina(A religious city in Arabia beside Mecca) was a city that had one of  the most population of Jews in Arabia.Muhammad(PbuH) lived beside them with muslims for years!But after some years,Jews decide to attack and kill our prophet.So a war between muslims and Jews began, in which Jews were defeated.But after the war,our prophet again let them to stay in Medina but He told them that they shouldn't attack again…

Also in Iran,Many Jews are living and we look at them like our brothers and sisters.

Some think that "Taliban" and "Al-Qaeda" are muslim and what they do is what Islam has teached them!About all of the muslims believe that they have only the name of "Islam" but they perform against of"Islam"!They kill muslims every day in Afghanistan!So how can they be Muslim?Iran also had a war with Taliban.

Many films are being created to say that muslims are terrorist!In their films,they say that Quran teaches us to kill non-muslims!It seems a joke!At the first verses of Holy Quran,God teaches us to make peace in the land!(verse 11 Surah 2).

Again,we(Muslims) are the only non-christians that believe in Jesus(Peace be upon Him),believe in Holy Bible , believe in Merria(PbuH) and believe in what is sent to you from God!So please look at us like your brothers and sisters as what we do.

Thank you for sharing. I really think that most people, including Christians, believe that most Muslims are a loving and peaceful people, as you have shown in your post. Certainly, in all religions there will be men that use the name of God as tool to kill, terrorize, and destroy that which is good. This goes for all religions throughout all of time. We, as an LDS people (and myself as an individual), believe that all people are children of God and, therefore, Muslims (all people) are our brothers and sisters. If only everyone believed that and treated them as such...


People of all religions who faithfully and humbly follow God deserve respect because they will naturally give that respect to others. You can tell if a tree is good or bad by it's fruits; we know there are many bad men out there because they do evil things. We also know there are many good and faithful people because of  their actions and certainly true Muslims are the latter.

Thank you, Mahdi, for sharing.  I understand that most Muslims desire peace and brotherly love with the whole world.  There are some who have a bad example.


Speaking as a moderator:  There will be no toleration for namecalling and similar.  I have already deleted one comment for this reason.  You don't have to agree with Mahdi and you can state it in no uncertain terms.  But no egregious namecalling.  I have chosen to leave erichazelle's comment because, even though it is angry, it is mostly an opinion with examples.  I am only able to delete an entire comment (or leave it).  I am not able to edit individual sentences within comments, otherwise I would have taken out the sentence "You people are born psychopaths, and are constitutionally incapable of . . . [etc]."  So this is a warning to anyone else NOT to follow erichazelle's example in expressing themselves similar to that sentence, or I will return and delete entire comments including erichazelle's.  Let me remind anyone who needs it that even if you are convinced that Muslims are your enemies, we have a commandment to love our enemies, and we can afford to express that love on a website such as this.
