Blessings in Disguise

I am a firm believer that every trial has some kind of lesson or blessing that goes along with it.  For instance, today on the news they said the mortgage crisis was causing people to stick it out in their marriages while unable to sell their homes.  It reminded me of a study mentioned, I think during General Conference.  The majority of couples surveyed who consider themselves to be in an unhappy marriage are happy again 5 years later.  So as much as the mortgage crisis stinks, it might actually save some people from making a terrible mistake.  Who knew?

Good to see your eyes are seeing patterns of the Godhead at work. At this point, our credit rating, our finances, our worldly standing is not worth more than FAMILY. As I warned others years back, expect the worst in 07-10 as our global market will begin to fail. Now is the time to draw closer to the Godhead and the living Prophet [including the Council of Twelve].

Well... or delay it until they can get the price that they really wanted for it. Sorry, its a little cynical I know. I find it a little difficult to believe that the housing crisis has had any positive effect on any marriages:-) Finances are the top reason for divorce in the US and that tells me that its spun a little.

If it is a good reason to stay together though... good on them!
