I've decided

To quit seeing the world as such a great place. Sometimes the glass really is half empty. Plus, who really likes a susie-sunshine all the time anyway?! That's just gotta be irritating. I need to grow up and look at the world with maturity and seriousness. That way things won't hurt me as much when they happen, right? Because I'll already be seeing the bad in it. so then it won't be such a shock to the system. Okay. I gotta head out the door for work. And it's raining. Brilliant

Awww...Siouxz, you ought not allow all the evils of this world to overshadow the light inside you.  Do not slide for one side of the pendulum to the other.  The world needs more people like you imo, not the other way around.  :)

Are you kidding? I think deciding to see the bad in everything makes it bad all the time. "Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy." We wouldn't know joy if we had no pain. I say, that a positive attitude helps us in even the worst of times.

hi souxz...yes...reality definately has its benefits...seeing things for what they are and not what we wish they were. there can be a certain peace. the glass is indeed sometimes half empty. and you're right again....it is a more mature approach to life...no more make believe for you, eh?  cool

i used to look at the world with a frown.  and the hurt just hurt more in those times.  facing the world with a smile, but knowing there could be bad times, just makes you appreciate the good times more.  and it helps you get over the bad times faster.  i'm not saying be "susie sunshine" all the time.  we all have bad days.  we're all entitled to them.  but just be yourself.  and take things one day at a time.  and if one day is a susie sunshine day, great.  and if one day is a sour susie day, that's fine too.  just live for the moment.  and when times have you down, talk to those you love about it.  friends and family are there to help, they're not just more pretty faces ;)  love ya bob!

Yeah susie sunshines are definitely irritating. So what if I am not smiling, you telling me to isn't helping the situation. I see the world for what it really is, yet at the same time I realize that I am the only one that can determine my destiny. I try to be happy but you know what life can be really boring if you are happy all the time. Drama, in small amounts, is what makes the world tick.

Welcome to the dark side, Sioux.

Why "grow up" and see anything as serious or bad????

Jesus taught, "To enter the Kingdom of God, you must become as a little child."

Why not see joy and wonder everywhere?  It's much more FUN!
