Light Breaks
Posted On: 01/19/2008 16:53:14
so long in the dark
alone and afraid
eyes cast down
no pleading for aid

broken and lonely
refusing to heal
entrenched in this place
by a rust iron will

then the barest of stirring
begins in the air
its soft swirling touches
gently ruffling your hair

the cool breeze is soothing
to rough tattered skin
stroking senses to waking
as whispers lilt on the wind

so soft at first hearing
but louder each time
the plea keeps on growing
til it fills up your mind

and finally you know
what its striving to tell
a sad Father's voice calling...
to return from deep hell

come home, the voice whispers
i've been waiting so long
let me into your heart
that my love make you strong

looking up at long last
with tears falling down
you take His bright hand
and rise up from the ground
