Welcome to the board!  How very interesting that you have a Buddhist background.  We have a currently practicing one frequenting the boards, who's made useful and pleasant contributions.  BTW, I spent four months in Hong Kong--exchange student at what was then Hong Kong Baptist College (now university, I believe).  Interesting times.  -- Prisonchaplain
