I am so sorry to hear about your son and your future daughter-in-law. I don't know how I would deal with sending a child to Iraq. I will keep you family in my prayers and I thank you, your son and your whole family for this sacrifice.

I have a soon to be daughter-in-law as well. It is hard for me becasue she is not LDS or any religion for that matter. They were attending church regularly, but lately have not been coming. It is frustrating to watch my son go from this clean cut Mormon boy to long hair, piercings and now red streaks in that long hair. I keep trying to breath through it and pray this is a stage that passes soon. All my ward friends keep telling me that he knows what's right and what's wrong and he will be fine. But I remember what it was like to be "in love" and wanting to become a part of that persons world and sadly, this is her world.

I guess we all have our crosses to bare. I thank you for sharing with me because I guess I need to stop and remember that there are some who bare greater crosses than mine. I am going to enjoy, like you the beautiful sunny day we have and I will talk to you soon.

Read the first 5 or 6 chapters of first Nephi.  She is only going away to college not to get the plates and maybe certain death.  Where is the faith in the Lord's plan?  PLease refer to my response for additional comments.  Have a great day.  Love the the profile pic.

Theres no reason to take anothers life or situation personal, theres nothing to get, im a mom getting ready to lose her last child im a new mom of the empty nesters, its a highly emotional time for me and my husband, im worried about tons of things from her going away to college 1500 miles away too her running into the wrong person on vacation...

as for my friend she is still my friend and my situation with her will stay between me and her....
