So I have an interesting visit yesterday from my uncle Mr. Rosales. Mr. Rosales is the kind of individual who wants to talk almost every LDS member out of our religion. I am not sure to what denomination he belongs to but he says he is a christian and a follower of the word of Jesus Christ. Well my uncle came to my house yesterday and asked me to give a message to my dad about one of her relatives being sick. So the visit seemed pretty much normal like "Hey how are you doing? Can you tell your dad this info? OK nice seen you have a good day." and then by the time he is about to walk through the door he stops and tells me "Oh and there is something pending between the two of us." I knew what he wanted to talk about but I still asked what it was. So he brought the subject of the Missionaries visiting a while ago. and from there he started telling me about the BOM not being what we claim it to be, Another Testament of Jesus Churist. We talked for a little over two hours. He gave me all this physical evidence about the Bibile: Cities, Geography, Mountains, Scrolls. and asked me to give him any evidence that would prove the Book of Mormon is true and that its people, The Nephites, Lamanites, etc, existed. And he said he has seen video on the internet where Post-members of the church who have been LDS for their entire lives went down to archeological sites and then said that stuff didnt make sense. I have seen the videos myself before he brought it up but there was something that made me not believe those videos. Anyways, he asked me about the golden plates the prophet Joseph Smith had found and he keep insisting that if those plates really existed they should be brought up and given to the world. I told him that he had a copy of those plates right infront of us. But he was more into getting physical proof. He said he has read the Book of Mormon and he says it contradicts the Bible. He gave me a challenge, yeah haha I havent been challenged in a long time. If he found something on the Bible that was different or contradicted in the BOM I should leave the church. I wasnt shocked at that moment I guess I wasnt even thinking correclty at that moment. I agreed to the challenge but one one condition, that if I found something on the BOM that compared to the Bible he was to accept it. So he started searching on my bible (JKV) for a scripture and asked me to find in the BOM the Crusifixion of Jesus Christ. I still wasnt sure what he was looking for and I wasnt sure what I was supposed to be looking for. So while he was still looking I gave him a Scripture from 2 Nephi. The scripture talked about the atonement of Christ. And I explained to my uncle what the chapter said about (The Chapter summary helped a lot ) but he didnt accept it as appropiate. He wanted me to find the Crucifixion of Christ and at that moment something came to my mind. My uncle and I actually talked about that just two months after I had joined the church. He wanted to tell me that in the Bible it says when Christ died there were 3 hours of darkness. and the BOM says there were 3 days of darkness. I have read that before but I havent gone back to check it out so I didnt want to say something that might be off or that he could get me into some sort of trap where I would be contradicting myself. He asked me how was it possible that there are those two differences in time. I said I dont know. seemed to be the best response to his question. BUt that didnt prove it to be contradictory. at least not to me. so I felt that I had won the challenge. but he didnt accept that comparison either. hahaha We kept talking about more physical evidence about the dead Sea or was it the red sea? well the sea that where Moses opened a path for people to pass.( I am so sorry I still cant recall scriptures by memory) He told me that there is evidence that that sea existed or something like that. But all of the sudden I asked him if he had any evidence that the sea was opened and people could pass through it. I thought I was pretty clever to ask that question where he couldnt deny he knew it was true because of faith. But my uncle is way too clever. He changed his point of view from a Christian to an Atheist. Both my uncle and I had been Atheists prior to our conversions. He is an Engineer and I study Physics. He talked about the sea opening and leaving a walking trail. He said that Physically that was impossible. I knew where he was going from there. He was going to talk about Volumes, densities, forces, and all that physics stuff that sometimes I hate =P He said that if the sea opened that water had to go somewhere. and there fore if it was true it could of have flooded other places. now when the sea closed all that water had to go back from where it went to. Anyways I am not sure where he wanted to go to with that. but was good to avoid the faith required to beleive that Moses had the power to open it because it came from God. I will have to leave it here right now, gotta go to a church dance ;) But if I were to type everything the blog would be too flipping long. I am going with the missionaries to my uncle's house sometime next week... or maybe the following week. It was his request before he left. and I invited him to Church!!! He said that he was gonna go yaaay! but he said that the moment he heard something that wasnt correct he would stand up and speak up. I welcomed him to do that. but I asked him not to do it during Sacrament. He thought about it for a second and said he wasnt be able to make it this week. so I commited him to go the following week! To tell you the truth I am actually curious as how will that Sunday be like and quite anxious to hear the questions he might ask. or Statements he might declare
So any Ideas of what should I talk to him when I go visit him at his house? thank you =D

Well yesterday I received a call from the missionaries where they asked me if I wanted to go out today on a missionary experience. And of course I went! I wanted it to feel like the real deal so I put my cell phone alarm clock to go off at 6:30 am. I wasnt sure what to read so I just jumped into random scriptures but nothing seemed to be appropriate for what I needed to say tomorrow. It got late really fast so I decided to give it up and wake up early so I could wake up early and find something more spiritually appropriate in the morning. It is 6:30 am and the alarm goes off... it hit the snooze button and then put the phone on silence so it wont bother me again... and I can asleep for a few more minutes. I overslept one and a half hours. so I jump out of my bed and hurry to take a shower. I go out and get ready. Then I seek for the spirit to guide me on what I should study for the day and I ask for the power to speak the words and answer the questions that I will be asked. After I was done praying a waited for a couple of minutes for any prompting on what to study for. Nothing came not even a chill. I let a few minutes pass and still nothing. so I wait for 20 minutes and still nothing. I then decided it was enough waiting and I should get to study something. I grabed Preach my Gospel and I decided to study the 1st lesson which is the the Restoration. after I am done I check that if my back was ready; Book of Mormon: Checked Bible: Checked Hymn Book: Checked (the missionaries love to sing) Preach my Gospel: Checked (I dont know why I took that book, it made the backpack heavier) Notebook, watter bottles, pen, pass along cards, Camera, Sun Block, Hand sanytiser, air pump, and keyes: Checked Libro de Mormon and Biblia: Missing Rayos! now I have to go to the chapel and get the scriptures in Spanish. That would take about 15 minutes. So I grabed my backpack and took it to the Jeep and... my bike?! How do I take my bike now? I had no bike rack and I needed it to go out! no way! this couldnt be happening to me! I had to figure out someway to fit the bike inside the little jeep. I took out the back seat and moved the passenger seat all the way to the front. and stuck the bike(somehow) inside the jeep but I forgot to tie it for safety(or more like I neglected to tie down the bike because of time shortage). Now on my way to the chapel I hit a bump and the bike jumps and lands on its tires. but it doesnt do it smoothly and the handle bars almost hit me in the head. So I took it slowly from then. finally I arrive where the missionaries and I were supposed to meet and I take down the bike, lock the Jeep, and feel ready to preach the Gospel. a few minutes pass when the missionaries call me and say that we will have to meet somewhere else. oh dear now I had to stock the bike back inside the jeep and rendevouz at the new location. Ok finally I arrive at where the Mish car is located but there is no one there. I park and take out my bike and ride around the neighborhood looking for the missionaries and I find them reaching an old man. So I joined them. The man was having a Garage sale and some costumers decided to show up because they saw all the bikes and thought they were for sale lol. well we ended up talking a little bit about the gospel to the costumers and I gave one pass along card (Woooo my first pass along card!). we ended the lesson and go on our way to find the next person. We find a lady that is working on cleaning her yard because of the mess Hurricane Dolly left at her home. Fallen trees and grown weeds. it didnt seem like a big deal but it was too much to clean up for the lady to do it by herself. so I offered help from the church (Elders Quorum to be more precise) to come down to her place and help remove all the mess. Now I need to motivate the EQ to do it. We talked with her for a little while and I invite her to church and she says she will go. The missionaries took over from there. Again on our way down the road we see this guy who is picking something up and loading it onto his truck. we talked to him for a few minutes but he refused to go further into the lesson. We are now going to an appointment where the investigator lives like a gazillion miles away from where we parked our cars. and a little over half way the road one of the missionaries says she is a little tired so we stopped to rest and rehydrate for 5 minutes. after she was done we all got up and were about to continue the Senior companion asks in general if we should keep going or if we should go back. I urge them to keep going because they had already set the appoinment and it would be rude not to show up and I reminded them that we should go the extra mile. She looks at me for a while thinking something, and then tells me that we should pray. She asks me to offer the prayer and I do. after a while I finish but she is still on prayer. I look towards the road the leads to the investigator's house and then I look back towards our starting point. none of them are in sight. and again I looked towards the investigators house (assuming it was all the way straight) and I had a feeling of doubt. I was doubting my decision to go to the house and I asked my self "why? if it is the right thing to do." and I looked back on the road towards our starting point wondering why we should go back. Then I noticed the Junior companion making a phone call. she was calling the house of the investigator. and she found out that the investigator was not at her house therefore dropping the appointment. The Senior companion looks at me and then looks at the other two missionaries and tells us "Then we should go back." To make a long story short we contacted about 15 or so new people on our way back to the starting point, we gave one book of mormon, I shared my testimony about Joseph Smith on the "right moment" and I talked about the Restoration of the gospel. Exactly what I had studied for!
I felt bad for a while for questioning the prompting of the spirit. I was trying to understand why we shoudnt go through with the set appointment and instead just head back. But now I have learned that I must do as it tells me. I will not doubt again what the spirit tells me to do. After the day was over I got home and I knocked out. I woke up again a couple of hours ago and had a tremendous headache and a high fever. The sun affected me a little but now I am feeling better so ready for church! I am still kind of tired so I am gonna head to bed now.
Woooo! the missionaries just called me and asked me if I wanted to have a whole day missionary experience tomorrow. And of course I said yes! We are going to be riding out bikes while the hot Texas sun burns our skin, we will preach the gospel, visit members, and the Lord knows what else. I am so exited because I have only been giving the new convert lessons for the past 7 months. And I had to assign other people to go with the missionaries. I dont know what to do! what to expect! how to react! how to greet people!!! YIKES! WOOOOOO! I really want to yell but I guess I better control it
anyways hahaha I guess the best thing to do is to study the scriptures and the new convert lessons. Yep that might work. hahaha well that is it hahaha have a good night everybody need to get to work I am just super happy because of this opportunity!!!!
