Thoughts about Senior Year
Posted On 08/08/2008 22:54:24

So school starts back up August 15th which is just around the corner i have been thinking like 'what college should i go to?' and 'where should i work to get a little more cashflow to finish off that mission fund?' etc and i know its one thing that parents somewhat worry about because from the moment their son or daughter get their deploma it wont be long after when the baby bird leaves the nest. also to add on to those fears just for the fact of "being grown up and on my own" is scary due to living with other people you know and grown up with for all your life up to that point in time.  it is also very sad to think that as soon as you graduate you dont know what your "friends" will do whether good or bad no matter how much you care for them.  for being the only member in my graduating class at my high school and one of 7 (counting myself) i am very thankful for the support i have to do the things in which i am able to. lol its even good to have some support there at school to keep me in line and to let me know when im about to step on the line *cough* heaven *cough cough* . in being involved with tennis, band, choir, orchestra, the musical, skills usa, forensics and working at my current job also participating in youth activities i can see plenty of opportunities to let my light shine and do some good in the world. but in there i know satan is going to plot something to make sure i dont serve a mission whether it be a girl (which i wont let happen ) or some big thing that wont let me serve i'll turn it down...an example to me of that is at efy there was a teacher there his name was Brother Grey and he is a professional magician and when he was about my age he tried out to be a magician for a restaurant or something and so he tried out and got the job but the contract said that he'd have to perform for 2 years and then possibly for another 5 years after that and he would be making like a lot of money but he turned it down to serve a mission. just that little story and that example set my concrete determination to go. one motto i'm going to try to live by for this senior year (besides the scout's motto do a good turn daily) is "(insert something positive) no matter what (or by any means)". in closing of this thought i'd like to leave with a modern, famous, and not considered a philosopher who dreamed of peace, his name is John Lennon,
and he said "you may say im a dreamer but im not the only one i hope someday you'll join us and the world will be as one"
