Looking for an easy but good cake recipe for my daughter's Evening in Excellence

Is it okay to ask for recipe's as well as submit?  I am looking for a good cake mix recipe that is easy but also firm and good for my daughters Young Women's Evening in Excellence.  She is making a cake but I would like her to use something other than the betty crocker ones at the store.  Thanks

To bake a cake even from a box it takes 40 -55 minutes to cook and then the time to prep and cool the cake before frosting is even more time, Making this for Women's Evening in Excellence to me might not be the best great choice , Maybe a batch of cookies would be better as you can prep, cook and eat them in a little under an hour. How ever if you are bring it to the meeting then by all means go for it. Find many ideals on line just use your search ...
