My father was always
anxiously afraid of
the wolf pacing outside
the house so he key-locked
the front, back, and side doors
from the inside and if
there had been a fire God
forbid we would have all
burned to death. As it was
I barely survived in
his compulsive hide out
but today when I am
feeling brave I will throw
a chair through a nearby
window whenever I
want to face that snarling
grotesque fanged beast, myself.
